A text message poem finds one truthful moment and describes it: what Ezra Pound called 'the luminous detail'. It's a snapshot, a digital photograph with words, written on a mobile phone, and published instantly by being texted, turning readers' phones into books with blank pages waiting to be filled.

Andrew Wilson lives in Leeds. He devised The Guardian text message poetry competition and the Leeds City Poems SMS project. Text Messages is his first-full collection. Each of the poems has 160 characters or fewer. Feel free to text them to friends.
