Review of 'Troupers' by Keith Hutson

Posted by: katherine Category: General

"Few collections can have such an inviting start to the ‘About the author’ notes: ‘Keith Hutson has written for Coronation Street and many well-known comedians.’ Here’s a poet with proven experience in timing, the varied rhythm and patterns of everyday speech, the ability to make every word earn its place, and all underpinned with humour. Having already encountered his work in magazines – The North , The Rialto , and Magma among them – I’d been waiting for this pamphlet. It’s every bit as good as I’d hoped".   Read more of D A Prince's review of Keith Hutsons Laureate's Choice pamphlet Troupers for London Grip here:  http://londongrip.co.uk/2018/04/london-grip-poetry-review-hutson-2/   Keith Hutson will be reading from his two pamphlets, Troupers (Smith|Doorstop, 2018) books and Routines (Poetry Salzburg, 2016) alongside Carol Ann Duffy at the following literary festivals:    Hebden Bridge Arts Festival - 1 July 2018 Edinburgh Int Book Festival - 14 August 2018 Durham Book Festival - 13 October 2018 London Literature Festival, Queen Elizabeth Hall - 20th October
