The Team

Peter Sansom
 has published Writing Poems (Bloodaxe) and five collections with Carcanet, including a recent Selected Poems. He has been writer in residence with M&S, company poet with Prudential, and Fellow in Poetry at both Leeds and Manchester Universities. 

With Ann Sansom he is a director of The Poetry Business and co-editor of The North magazine and Smith/Doorstop Books.





Ann Sansom
 is co-director of The Poetry Business and editor of Smith/Doorstop and The North.

She is a poet, playwright and tutor. She has published six collections of poetry; had work published in several Forward/Faber anthologies, Russian Vogue and a range of other publications. She has also written and directed plays for stage and radio.

Her two full-length poetry collections are published by Bloodaxe.




Ellen McLeod
 is the Business Manager at The Poetry Business.

She completed a Masters in Cultural Policy and Management in 2010. Ellen Has worked for Bank Street Arts, Writing Yorkshire, and as a freelance project administrator on several arts projects including The Sheffield International Artist's Book Prize, and on two creative learning projects for Sheffield Children's Festival.




Suzannah Evans is a freelance poetry editor and publicist. She also leads writing workshops and has taught for the Poetry School. She is currently director of South Yorkshire Poetry Festival.

As a poet Suzannah has written a pamphlet Confusion Species, a winner in the 2011/12 Poetry Business book and pamphlet competition, and in 2013 was the winner of a Northern Writers’ Award. She is currently working on a collection of apocalyptic poetry which will hopefully be published before Donald Trump presses the button.












Keith Lauchlan
is Utter Design. He provides web development and graphic design services to clients around the world, including musicians, publishers and community projects. He is currently responsible for all the Poetry Business design and typesetting, and designed and built the new website.
